BOARD NOMINATIONS

CALL FOR 2010 ASOPA BOARD NOMINATIONS
DEADLINE: March 19, 2010

ASOPA is seeking nominations for Member at Large. Please read below for duties and responsibilities of the Member at Large position. All ASOPA members are urged to submit nominees (self nominations are accepted) for this office with the following guidelines in mind:

- Nominees must be NBCOPA-certified orthopaedic physician’s assistants who have been ASOPA members in good standing for at least one
year.

- The nominations committee will review each nominee’s background information including certification status, years in and participation in ASOPA.

- Nominees will be contacted before they become official candidates. All nominees will be asked to submit a headshot photograph along with a broad statement of their goals for the association, to be published in the Spring/Summer 2010 issue of the Update.

- Elections will take place at the general business meeting during ASOPA’s 34th Annual Meeting in Houston, TX. Write-in nominations for office election must be received by ASOPA at least 72 hours prior to vote.

- Nominations and any questions may be submitted to Mike Craig, OPA-C, ASOPA Member at Large and and Nominations Chair by mail, fax, or email no later than March 19, 2010 at the address below.

ASOPA Executive Board Roles and Responsibilities:

Office of the Member at Large
(g)  Duties of the Members at Large: Members at large shall represent the general membership on the board, while gaining board experience for possibly holding other offices in the future. They will be assigned to committees, as the board deems appropriate. One at large member shall be elected at each annual meeting to serve a term of two years.
